What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A certificate of analysis is a report from an accredited laboratory that details the chemical analysis of a substance. Typically, each batch is tested individually, and a COA is generated for each run. A third-party lab is used to perform nearly all certificates of analysis.
Why carry out a Certificate of Analysis?
Unlike the US market, the Irish industry is not subject to official regulations regarding COAs. The Budtender, on the other hand, gladly shares this information to demonstrate our commitment to transparency and quality assurance. Independent laboratories test all The Budtender products.
We offer high-quality products to our customers and strive to be as transparent as possible. This allows our customers to make informed decisions about the products they buy.
What is HHC?
We can't discuss HHC-P without first mentioning Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC), which is the hydrogenated form of THC. It is present in very small amounts in cannabis and therefore can only be extracted at a high cost. However, laboratory procedures have enabled the production of HHC from cannabis. Roger Adams, a chemist, achieved the first chemical conversion of THC to HHC by hydrogenation in 1947. Two hydrogen molecules are added to the cannabinoid during hydrogenation to change its molecular composition and yield HHC.
What is HHC-P?
HHC-P (Hexahydrocannabiphorol) is a more potent form of HHC and only discovered in 2019. So, perhaps unsurprisingly, HHC-P feels similar to Delta-9, but much stronger. Keep in mind that if you're completely new to psychoactive cannabinoids, HHC-P may be too much for you.
HCC-P products are typically made from hemp-derived CBD, but they do not contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
What are the Effects of HHC/HHC-P?
The exact effect of hexahydrocannabinol has not yet been scientifically researched due to the relatively new interest in it. However, reports indicate that HHC-P behaves similarly to delta-9-THC. The most common reported effect is a strong relaxing effect. A psychoactive effect is also readily apparent.
Because HHC-P is extremely potent, it’s important to consume it in very small quantities at first – even if you’re an experienced THC user.
IS HHC/HHC-P legal?
The THC content of our HHC products 0.0% and thus is not prohibited by the Narcotics Act. Because hexahydrocannabinol is not chemically labelled as THC, it is also exempt from the New Psychoactive Substances Act's prohibition (NpSG). Hemp products that meet these criteria are thus permitted.
